6 Body Positive Brands You'll Love

I remember being a size 14 pants in high school and not being able to find clothes ANYWHERE that fit me. My size 10-11 shoe was also impossible to find and I usually resorted to wearing men's shoes which were fine but didn't come in the colours I liked at the time.

First world problem? YOU BET. But I still can't describe how wonderful it felt to walk into an American Eagle store last week and walk out with two pairs of pants that fit me - two pairs I'd have loved to wear in high school (because that style has come full circle 🎉).

Let's got on it with though, shall we...

1. American Eagle / Aerie is increasing diversity in sizes and social media

It should go without saying that I'd start here given my recent experience!

I love that I was able to find up to a size 20 in the jeans at the American Eagle store when I was there. AND that they seem to be featuring more and more diverse body types in their social media.

Room to grow? Of course! There are still a lot of underrepresented groups they would do well to serve, but they are on the right path.

2. Wray knocks it out of the park when it comes to diverse waist sizes

No lie, I hadn't even heard of Wray until I started researching for this post but let me tell you, I'm falling deeply in love with this brand.

They offer everything from a size XXS to a size 6X allowing them to serve a hugely diverse range of body types. As a tall girl with a short step-daughter it would be nice to see an assortment of pant length options paired with this amazing range of waist and hip sizes. Still, this is a great start!

3. Tommy Hilfiger is on the leading edge of high fashion for disabled individuals

I want to throw a serious round of applause out there for the work Tommy Hilfiger is doing when it comes to diversity in their clothing. They've added magnetic and keyhole closures and a variety of other accessibility features to their clothing. Honestly, this just isn't a thing we're seeing larger brands do... yet!

BONUS - They have a curve collection that caters to larger body sizes, as well ❤️
